Step Right Up!

One of the most spectacular and unforgettable student fashion shows is one from the talented designers on Columbus College of Arts and Design. Their Step Right Up – Senior Fashion Show way back was one of the most festive, fun and jam-packed shows they’ve had. At the entrance, the whole show looks like a circus, clowns and jugglers greeted the people coming and the audience, and there were bright lights and colors everywhere. The mood of the whole show is a total FUN. Why of why? But of course it is because; the whole concept of that show was “Circus Couture.” There were 26 student designers who showcased their designs and collections. It was interesting to see how each designer conceptualizes his/her design. Some designers interpreted the theme quite literally, like you will see layers of hats on a model that is fitted for a ring master, some animal prints and tent skirts. Others on the other hand where abstract in their approach and only used circus colors like red, green and yellow and then stripes and circles or bows and all that circus details. The later designs were more wearable than other designers who have interpreted the theme on their designs literally. But, the whole show really fun and everyone who had a blast. It was packed with dozens of people from the industry, who never failed to come and see some new and unique designs and discover promising talents. It was a job very well done from CCAD’s senior student designers. Big things are expected of them, for sure. Send to Kindle
